Fed: Eight unlawful arrivals found on Ashmore Reef=2
Senator VANSTONE says the eight people .. whose gender .. nationality and age are unknown
.. were dumped there by people smugglers.
She says they've been picked up by the HMAS Albany .. but will be transferred to the
HMAS Darwin and taken to Christmas Island .. before being flown to Nauru for immigration
processing.
Senator VANSTONE says their arrival in Australian waters illustrates the need for strong
border protection measures.
