FED: Anderson pays tribute to departing Yelstsin
CANBERRA, Jan 1 AAP - Acting prime minister John Anderson paid tribute today to outgoing
Russian president Boris Yeltsin, saying he had been a significant world leader.
Mr Anderson, who fills in for the vacationing John Howard for the next three weeks,
said Mr Yeltsin had at time proved a controversial leader.
"He has been a very significant leader indeed in the context of recent events in the
20th century," he told reporters in Canberra today.
