QLD: Pig production moves into the computer area
Australian pig farmers are about to move into the computer age with the launch of Pigpulse,
which records and analyses data on their stock.
GEOFF POLLOCK an officer with the Queensland Department of Primary Industries says
the Pigpulse software program is simple to understand and is a low cost utility linking
commonly used herd recording programs.
MR POLLOCK says the program has attracted wide interest from the US and New Zealand
because it can be adopted to other rural industries.
Pigpulse, developed by the DPI and the Pig Research and Development Corporation, will
be launched in Canberra next week.
